What Are Psychological Tests In SSB Interview

Hello defense aspirant, how is the josh? Psychology the meaning of this word goes towards something in which there is a contribution of mind. In your SSB Interview, you have to go through some psychological Tests.

These tests are basically conducted to know your mindset, OLQ's, etc. To become an officer your mind should stable and your thinking also must be in a proper manner. So let's move towards Psychological tests in SSB.

Psychological Tests In SSB Interview

These tests are conducted on day 2 of the SSB Interview. To know the full SSB procedure in detail click here. At the starting of your day 2 in SSB, the tests are conducted in the following manner,

TAT - Thematic Appreciation Test
SRT - Situation Reaction Test
WAT - Word Association Test
SD - Self Description

TAT - Thematic Appreciation Test

It is about to similar to PPDT. In this test, you will be shown 12 slides of pictures and you have to write an on each slide. The 12th slide will be blank and you can write any story as you want in that slide. Here the picture will be shown for 30 seconds then 1 minute is given to think about that picture and immediately within the next 4 minutes you have to write a story on a given picture. Note: Time can change as per entry and SSB interview center.

SRT - Situation Reaction Test

As its name tells meaning od it that you have to write your reaction on a given situation. You will be provided with one booklet having 60 situations and you have to write your reaction to that situation. For details about SRT click here. SRT practice set. The time given for this test is half-hour. If you are unable to complete all 60 SRT's don't worry. Just try to attend more than 40-45.

WAT - Word Association Test

In this test, you will be shown 60 words on the screen back to back. And you have to write about that word whatever you want. This means if you see any word on the screen what first thing comes in your mind that you have to write there. Each word will be shown for 15 seconds and at that time you must complete your response. See if you miss any word don't get stuck move towards next otherwise you can't attempt the next words clearly.

SD - Self Description

This is the last test of the Psychological tests in the SSB Interview. In this test, you have to write about,

What your parents think about you?
What your teachers think about you?
What your friends think about you?
What you think about you?

This is a simple one but whatever you write here, that you have to behave the same in the whole SSB Interview. Don't lie here and keep in mind write both positive and negative things also. Because no one is perfect but if you accept your bad things also and can change them then it shows your improvement quality.

All tests are under Psychological Tests in SSB Interview. Your majority of recommendation is depending on these tests, which means I am not saying that other tests are not important but if you fail in this test or your mindset is much different than what defense needed then it creates problems for your recommendation.
